TC 8.12 Standards Activities
Our members served as the core of the group which developed ASHRAE Standard 139 "Method of testing for rating desiccant dehumidifiers utilizing heat for the regeneration process."
This ANSI-approved standard, first published in 1998, outlines procedures, variables and measurement techniques for testing heat-regenerated desiccant wheels. Following these procedures allows objective comparisons of the performance of equipment from different suppliers. The standard will be most useful to manufacturers and to research organizations seeking to test desiccant dehumidifiers in a uniform manner.
